Apprenticeships are open April - October (start and end dates vary slightly for each positions), but this timeframe is not required.
Compensation is $15/hour.
Shared on-farm housing is available.
Vegetable Production Apprentice- the Vegetable Production Apprentice will assist in our greenhouse and field operations. Transplanting seedlings, weeding, harvesting, washing and packing produce for sale. Description here.
Compost Apprentice- the Compost Apprentice will be responsible for daily logs and measurements. They will be working with heavy machinery and mechanized equipment. They should be flexible, resourceful, and able to conduct work independently and as part of a team. They will observe the decomposition process of organic matter and gain an understanding of large scale composting. Description here.
Housing: apprentices will have the option to stay in a shared 3-bedroom farmhouse with 2 other Farm employees. Each apprentice will have his or her own room. The house is located on our farm and is about a 10-minute drive to the towns of Millerton and Amenia. The house has Wifi and laundry machines.
